Every woman knows how painful it is to accidentally smudge your eyeliner after finally perfecting your cat eye, spill droplets of coffee on a light t-shirt, and worst of them all, walk around with chipped nail polish. I’ve spent hundreds of dollars each month on gel manicures to avoid chipped nails but as a result, my love affair with gel manicures left me with cracked, fragile nails.
Apply a cuticle softening product to the base of each nail. Use a cuticle softening balm or oil serum. Alternatively, you can use honey as a natural cuticle softener. All 3 options work great to soften your cuticles, so you can easily remove the dead skin. Apply the product where the toenail meets the nail bed. Then, massage each toe to distribute the product.[10]

I LOVE LOVE LOVE this OPI Cajun Shrimp nail polish color. I picked it out at the salon when I went to get my piggies painted and knew I had chosen wisely! It's a perfect combo of red, with just a dash of coral, which means it goes well with EVERYTHING. You know how some corals are just TOO orangey? This one isn't. Much more of an actual red undertone. What more can I say? We all know OPI polishes rock, and this has to be my new fave, second only to my all time favorite color, "I'm Not Really a Waitress".
In between pedicures, cut your toenails straight across to trim them. This helps prevent ingrown toenails and keeps them strong. Filing your nails slightly so they're rounded in the center is fine. Before you polish your nails, gently clean underneath them with a manicure stick. If you have diabetes, your health care provider will do regular foot exams and teach you how to care for your feet.

After using it a few times, I thought I should note that with two coats, it still looks pretty streaky and the polish is a bit too thick to get a really even coat each time. The picture shows what it looks like after three coats, what I'm unable to show is that it's still not completely hardened after a coat of Seche Vite fast-drying top coat and 45 minutes. I'm going to add a few drops of OPI polish thinner and try again... I'll update if I can get it to go on better after thinning slightly.
The image of NBA legend Shaquille O’Neal’s toes, as he received a pedicure in 2017, should have come with a NSFW warning. In 2014, former slam dunk champion Nate Robinson bared his soul, and his little piggies, as he posted a picture of himself on Instagram at a nail shop with the hashtag #teamUglyFeet. And through the decade of his own playing career, shame prevented Washington Wizards Coach Scott Brooks from removing his shoes in front of a stranger.
“Women are now looking to get youthful skin on their hands as well as their faces. Many of my clients have had their hands treated with Radiesse [an injectible filler] at their doctor’s office to get rid of wrinkles and add volume. They love to show off their new hands by indulging in on-trend manicures with bright colors and unique details.” —Lisa Jachno
Another popular type of manicure is shellac. Your natural nails are cleaned, filed, and shaped at the salon. Then, a special base coat is applied, followed by two coats of shellac nail polish, and a top coat. In between each step, a dryer is used to cure. Similar to a gel manicure, shellac lasts for about two weeks and is resistant to chipping. However, unlike gel, this can actually make your nails stronger.

The Ft.Lauderdale Red Door as been a perfect experience everytime I have visited. It has an upscale refined, quiet, relaxing ambiance. From the friendly engaging manner of the people who greet you to the skilled staff who pamper your hands and feet, the experience is always 5 Stars. I would not hesitate to enjoy other treatments such as facials or hair design. They have my confidence. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

If you want a long-lasting manicure without the commitment (or potential damage) of acrylic nails, a gel manicure is a great option. All the steps of a basic manicure are taken, except a special polish that requires curing under a UV light is also applied. This lasts days longer than the polish used for a basic manicure, and is less prone to chipping.
“I hate when nail clients have stiff hands! It’s the worst! To do a good manicure you need to make sure all areas and angles of the nail are covered and if your hands are stiff or rigid that definitely limits my ability to do that.”  —Heather Norton, a cosmetologist and nail technician in Denver, Colorado Follow these other tricks to make your manicure last longer.

“It’s important to exfoliate your cuticles regularly, especially if you have dry skin. But you don’t have to wait for your manicurist to do this—just rub your nails with a wash cloth in the shower, pushing back and rubbing in a circular motion. The moist air in the shower will help soften the cuticle so you can clean it and remove dead skin easier.” —Lisa Jachno, a celebrity manicurist based in California Here are some surprising things your nails can reveal about your health.

On May 7, 2015, The New York Times journalist Sarah Maslin Nir broke the two-part story titled "The Price of Nice Nails" and "Perfect Nails, Poisoned Workers" about abuses in New York salons related to ill-treatment of workers and associated health risks. As a result, on May 11, 2015, New York governor Andrew Cuomo took immediate measures announcing a Multi-Agency Enforcement Task Force to tackle the abuse in the nail salon industry.[10]
